Instagram

Yesterday Ranger N8 gave me a great idea. I'm going to start going through his work photos and posting them on Instagram. I thought I'd also post them to blog for the non-Instagram users as well.

I'm so glad

that fall finally came! It's seemed like a never-ending summer.

I don't love the summer and couldn't be more ready for cooler temps with this new gypsy baby I'm carrying around. Which in case you wondering, no we are not going to find out the gender of our gypsy, however we do have it on DVD!

Ranger N8 picked these from the side of the road near our house, they are everywhere and I like them.
Mills is growing up so fast and I'm so sad that she can't stay 2 forever. Lately she's Super Millie to the rescue! It reminds me of my little brother nick who was once so sweet and super too.

I got my hair done... I know it's not very interesting but it's been a while since I got to sit and relax and have my hair done @ the salon. Thanks again to my wonderful friend/ stylist Kristi. She brought me cookies so I could snack and be beautiful!

Fall

I'm more in love with this lady than ever before.
She is constantly making me laugh and smile.  Today I wanted to straighten up the patio a bit and she was right beside me to help.  Although as soon as all the sand was cleaned up she insisted on bringing me a sand milk shake.
She wants to be a pirate for Halloween and loves playing in/on her Pirate ship/ sand box.
Today I was listening to her play and she was yelling
"Aye Aye Captain, bring in the sails!"
What a sweet little pirate she will be.

A day old post

Today my sweet husband is running behind @ work. Unfortunately he doesn't do the type of work where he can just call and tell me he is running behind. Nope...instead I'm left to use my imagination.  Which in my pregnant state doesn't exactly run wild with thoughts of him in a field of flowers on a beautiful mountain.  Instead I'm filled with thoughts of bears, mountain lions, snakes and the worst of all…low blood sugar!  I should be more patient with the time but it's so hard when you know he is somewhere 11 miles out.  I do things to distract myself like make dinner and pace the kitchen.  I try to do things with Millie that don't let me think about the time or where he is.  Today I was doing relatively well.  I only got so light headed one time that I had to sit down for a few minutes. Then…”Oh glorious day!”  I got a text from the gal he works with saying they weren't quite out of the canyon.  Thank goodness for text messaging!  Although we are a slightly anti-technology family I sure am glad for some of it!  I don't think I could handle being married to a diabetic Forest Ranger before there were cell phones!  On that note, we are still doing our walk for type 1 diabetes on Sept 24, 2011 and we could really use some support.
Please donate or sign up to walk.  Click on donate upper right corner then put in our info,  Mandy Hawkes Team name Hawkes 4 walks, Utah. Thank you!
